What Is The Correct Way To Paint A Wood Floor White?
l have read dozens of ways. Some say to sand lightly, others not to bother.
Some say to prime, others say do not bother. My wood floor is ugly and it
makes my living room look dark and dingy. l wanna paint it white. Any
suggestions, ideas, websites? Thanks to all who answer.
I would always sand, & prime, both for the same reason, which
is that if you don't sand & prime, there is a good chance that the paint
won't stick very well. Depending on what finish is on ur floor now, you
might even have to strip the finish off--if, perhaps, it is an old wood
floor that is been waxed. Floors take a lot of wear, so making sure the
paint sticks properly is very important. You don't want to have to paint
it again in 6 months. It might very well take much longer to prep the floor for painting than it will take to actually paint it. And don't cheap out with the paint you buy. Get something good quality, made for floors. If I were you, I'd go to a store that sells paint only, & ask their advice.
sand and then stroke in small strokes
Since you've already read a dozen ways. . . take your pick.
Good Luck!
